Oh don't get me wrong, I loved both twists and the endings too( and specially loved what they did in V3, it was my favorite ending in the entire DR series), it's just that I found funny how many people hyped DRV3 to be influenced by Umineko when it was announced, only to turn out the only things one can consider influence are maybe Himiko's gimmick and the whole "fictional characters vs the outside world", the latter being the major thing that absolutely killed the japanese fanbase and part of the western one in Umineko, and it is only even more funny how it also heavily damaged DR's fanbase because people are dumb and think the author is telling them they are evil for enjoying the death of fictional characters
