Opinions differ. Some like Umineko more and some prefer Higurashi. They're different enough that you can't really compare them, so it's up to personal taste. I would say you can expect more Horror rather than Mystery compared to Umineko.
There's a good chance you'll enjoy it as well but it's rougher around the edges.
