This is something that kinda annoys me, desu. Like, we were told constantly that 'OLD DAYS BETTER THAN MODERN AGE'. Yet, by what was presented in FGO, defeating Tiamat was such a mountain of miraculous circumstances that had to happen JUST to open the conditions to DAMAGE her. This being the Age of the Gods.

Yet, as you said, had to happen in modern age, there's so much bullshit roaming around, between the Church, Magic Association, and all the crazy individuals like the True Magic wielders, that kinda make the whole prospect a joke.
Yeah, they would totally bullshit a win. Why not? Tiamat can't be killed normally, but that's like half the hax monsters and enemies from Tsukihime.

But then, what what is it? Is modern age better or not?
Honestly, rather than this being a problem of Tsukihime/Modern Age Type Moon, is more on how FGO portrayed the Old times. I'm still mad how Urk was just a trash city, with none of the 'GODLY TECHNOLOGY' that Gil supposedly got from that very same age.
Where were the god tier mages? Where was all the crazy Age of the Gods bullshit? Wasn't True Magic just a tiny grasp of what Mages could handle before? For christ sake, even Gil felt underwhelming for being himself, in the flesh.
