I have been running for years from Death. She keeps chasing me, trying to get me to yield and come with her already to the next life, but I refuse. I resist her every time, because I don't want to die, I'm afraid of Death.

We need more death girls. And I don't mean it metaphorically, or rhetorically, or poetically, or theoretically or in any other fancy way. We need more death girls straight up.
Fun fact: The oldest version of "Oh Death" is is generally attributed to the musician and Baptist preacher Lloyd Chandler, but it was likely taken or adapted from pre-existing folk songs, making it one of those mysterious songs whose true creator is essentially unknown.
