Man, that sounds like such a better experience.
All the political scenes were so fucking boring, on top of being borderline irrelevant to the plot.
I'll never get why Ryu keeps trying to shoehorn "political" scenes in his stuff when he's clearly incapable of integrating them into the story without making them feel like a jarring extraneous component to them.

Even Ciconia, which supposedly has them as one of its main themes, turns into a snorefest when he goes political, and a almost every single 'politics' scene could be erased with no detriment to the plot.

Kaguya is only a few thousand years old, and in CiLR she was getting extremely close to the "torture all the bunnies for fun" point before breaking the spell of timelessness.
Assuming you're not immortal, she'd be jaded but enjoy your company for the change of pace it provides.
