It starts strong, gets way too repetitive around the middle and ends up really strong.
I found it not quite as good as Onikakushi or Legend but nice enough to expect phase 2.
I mean, I think at its best points it's better, but the pacing is so much better in both of those. I've seen people say Legend in particular starts off slow, but when shit starts to go down it just gets more and more intense. Compare to Ciconia where when you think you're finally reaching some kind of climax you get cockblocked by walls of peace talk.

I kind of disagree with this, I mean I get what you mean but I don't think the idea is really out of touch, especially with Ryukishi's worldbuilding. But yeah I guess it's just not as "unique" as Higurashi or Umineko.
