To be fair even JK Rowling was like that. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone? Every adult told her it wasn’t good or to not get her hopes up. Then the kids ate that book and begged their parents for more.
The popular series Squid Game? Netflix thought it wasn’t gonna yield anything and left it to rot for months until when scarce in options they did it. And it became one of the most populars in the planet.
Nowadays and back then, as well as in the future, those critics that move the editors and media are disconnect from what the population wants or likes. So I wouldn’t take a loss too seriously.
