Ogres are my favourite irl monster but I find the mge ones completely boring aesthetics and personality-wise. The brutality or domination aspects are already covered better by hellhound and manticore and ghouls and wendigo also cover the cannibal theme that their irl equivalents have. They just don't have anything that other monsters don't already do better, even within their own group oni are far more intriguing.
