01 is the classic but 10, 27, 28, and 29 are all intended for mdd/ddp. You can technically use those heads on the full sized bodies but it'll look tiny.

the ones you see most of in this thread are usually referred to as 1/3 or 1/4 scale
but that's only a rough approximation and isn't very accurate
for example, the middle-sized one here >>42542168 is a 60cm-tall Dollfie Dream (DD), a "1/3" scale doll
but if you do the math, that would put her at just over 6 scale feet tall, which is kind of dumb
Mini Dollfie Dreams (MDDs, >>42611992, 40cm) are referred to as 1/4 scale, but really they're more like child-sized in the same scale as DDs (whatever that scale is)

Speaking purely personally, I consider them basically interchangeable. Some might prefer one over the other aesthetically, but they're similar enough that I don't notice much of a difference.

DDdy is basically the same height a Dollfie Dream, but with larger hip/bust measurements, so clothes for DDdy tend to be too large on other dolls. DDPs are probably the hardest to shop for in my experience. Azone/Obitsu 50cm outfits can also fit, but the waist measurements may differ (and those outfits aren't particularly common either.) If you think DDs will be too much to handle, maybe start with MDD -- they're a nice size and have a metric fuckton of clothing and prop options.

Bylthe stuff fits well with the exception of the headwear. Blythe heads are bigger than even 13 heads, it's kind of nuts and I don't know how they stand.

It's okay, we all start somewhere, anon! 1/4 is a good size to start with for many, I feel -- they're not as overwhelmingly large as 1/3, but easier to sew for than 1/6 if that's your interest (as making tiny clothes is actually pretty tricky.) But if something appeals to you more, go for that -- you'll be more motivated if you go for what you like.

Not all of them, but a lot of them. Clover is on an Obitsu 60cm body, and most Dollfie Dreams are around that size. From left to right in this image:

Dollfie Dream, Dollfie Dream Sister, Dollfie Dream Pretty, Mini Dollfie Dream. Smaller than MDDs are dolls like Azone Pure Neemo, which are a little smaller than a Barbie, and some people collect even smaller dolls! A lot of the ones posted here are big Dollfie Dreams (or Smart Dolls, which are approximately the same size) or smaller Mini Dollfie Dreams, but there's a size for everyone.

DDS and DD3 are pretty much the same except for a small difference in height. I wouldn't sweat the clothing fitment. I'd pay more attention to the bust fitment.
