Get Tabs Outliner. Vertical tree-style tab extension. Let's you organise and group tabs with labels, across multiple windows.
You can even add notes to tabs.
Any tab I consider persistent and something I will always have open I just label with "#" so I never accidentally close it, ANY tab with a label will never vanish from the tab list.
I don't even use bookmarks anymore, haven't for years.
