If you mean the flesh and blood women, they're rather oblivious and untainted by our distant personal doings. If you mean the actual idol you get to know, which is the interpretation of the character in your head, then you're right but that again is just damaging yourself if you hold such asexual principles. The mediatic idol definitely has a sexual component too; sex appeal it's something to idolize too.
