i thought basic english was the argument i put forth...
its arguing semantics anyway, what people that make those simplified languages end up discovering is that they are their own languages
im not saying you cant derive a language from another, romance languages all are "basic latin"
the point is more they are not latin anymore, and while theres some shared stuff that makes romance speakers be able to understand each other, to an extent, in some situations, latin is dead.
