No, I believe that all ship types have the same attacks. This run was played with B-EXY. I've never played anything other than A-EXY and B-EXY. All that I know is that bosses get very grumpy when you use a hyper on them.

The previous one was played with A-EXY, almost the same shitty score in both runs. That is to be expected when you mess up the same shit time and time again. But at least I'm improving in some ways, I just need to boost my consistency. Sometimes, I perfect all the way up to the 1-4 boss. And other times, I die two times before the Stage 1-2 midboss. Of course, I only have about ~30 or so hours played in DOJ, so there's plenty of room for survival improvement.

This has been every single run for the past week or so as far as DOJ goes. It's kind of funny, back when I played DDP with B-S, the same exact thing happened there too. Then I switched to C-S and got my 1-ALL.

Why not play? STGs are fun, even if you're like me and you game over at 1-5 and 1-6 with the final bosses having no health left at all! Picture related. Just pop in a few credits and take it easy if you've never played them before.
