It's been many years since she did JAV after the mini JAV extermination and there's no way you can maintain that perfect mini look forever. Peak Aoi was between 2013-16. Might as well be an eternity in the industry if your meme as an actress is looking extremely young.

So yeah... she's older and she changed her image quite a bit to appeal to a new audience as a more mature-type actress.

I think if any of those mini girls from her era wanted to come back they'd really have to nail whatever niche they're going for. They're competing with zoomer Dr. Kim'd goblinas and top tier young-wife/mature actresses. To me, the whole mini genre died around 2016 with whatever regulation came about and there's no replacing those old kinos or their looks. Whatever comes next for those actresses doesn't really interest me much.
