I think the simple explanation is that gravure is a more mainstream hobby and so a smaller percentage of them are going to be obsessives talking about it's most miniscule aspects.

The more interesting explanation is that gravure not transgressive. It's within the realm of social acceptability and its content aims to purely please. The lack of things that evoke a strong emotional response leads to their thread what it is as opposed to here where being outside the norm l lets people revel in their other impulses.
