I'm done with BM after the show last night. Against my better judgement I decided to go after the early mismanagement of the outrageous 15,000 yen tickets and lottery that made sure there was no way to guarantee a good seat, which weren't even revealed until an hour before the show when everyone had clearly made up their mind about going or not.

I won't dwell on the set list much because while I hated it, I don't expect them to account for personal tastes, but I do think they should have done songs like BxMxC or Starlight, I mean they only did three songs from METAL GALAXY and were far from the best (I guess people really like PA PA YA for some reason).

As for the performance itself, it felt passionless and artificial like there would have been no appreciable difference if they just played the vocals on the track and didn't even sing. Thanks to the shitty seat I had no control over, I watched through my binoculars at points and I just saw two girls who looked like they didn't want to be there (Momoko looked like she had a good time). This artificial feel was a million times compacted by the COVID rules that don't allow audiences to chant, which meant they played the chants over the tracks and the show opened with instructions on doing Mexican waves, stomping and clapping. This continued through to the "encore" where again, they played the chants on speakers and left the lights down and came back with all their usual gimmicks, so rather than an encore, it's literally just two more songs with a slight intermission.

After having not seen them live since the Tokyo Dome, I was sorely disappointed in how stale the act felt and won't be repeating, especially for the price. Overall I give it a 4/10. I can bump it up to a 6/10 if you feel like the set list is something you would have loved, but that's still far from a recommendation to actually go.
