Eh, these kinds of cards are localized field control, and after many years of playing field control I learned the only way to really do it when playing casual is to prepare for fucking anything, partly because there are so many johnnies who play artifacts at the local card/comics shop.

And if you're after creature control only, blue/black is imo way, way the fuck better than blue/white. Hell you could run a mono black control and still beat the shit out of most decks, unless they just plain don't use/rely on creatures chilling in the field.
