Back around when Kancolle came out and was majorly profitable, many doujin and primarily Touhou artists "jumped ship," and went all in on Kancolle around the same time as each other. Im on my phone without my links, but in a lot of cases it seemed that these artists weren't motivated by a love of the new corporate grab, but rather the grab of the new corporate MONEY, of which these lucrative contracts most likely stated that any touhou related art be removed to get your bag. Unsubstantiated, sure, but circumstantially solid, and would explain why the Kancolle artists near simultaneously also stopped drawing boats. Im certain this practice had continued and gacha losers continue to prey on the desperate starving artists, which explains this current phenomenon as well
