I dunno about Satoko, but I think revealing she isn't a Kimiyoshi could be an effective twist considering how her entire identity seems to be based on that status.

I will be really baffled if Satoko's daughter talking favorably about ostracism even in the arc where she isn't going crazy won't go anywhere.

It wasn't. Sakiko said she heard about people being ostracized in the past, but she wouldn't know well about it.

That said, at this point, I doubt Rei has any big background changes like that. It'd be a really odd twist if it was suddenly revealed so many chapters into the story that the initial background is completely different from what people would expect. The 82 curse was confirmed the same as usual though.

I really can't stand Sakiko's attitude when she started talking about Polaris. And that also makes Satoko look like a really bad mother.

Maybe it's all set up for Sakiko herself to somehow end up in a position to be ostracized, which actually could be quite karmic and I might change my views on her if the story goes thee, but I fear her story might be just her learning about Satoko's past and then becoming nicer. And to hell with that. It should never have taken so long in the first place.
