>She was just a bird, originally. Now she's more than just a bird.
again, big. fucking. deal.
how many cats do we know that can invoke the power of wrathful demons?
how many foxes do we know that can solve complex mathematical problems, way more advanced than humans can?
fuck, how many STONE STATUES, a completely inanimate and man-made object, do we know that can grasp the very nature of universal morality and accurately judge and weigh the sins of mortals?
treating okuu as special based on her powers or personality or whatever is fine, but saying she's unique because ``she was a bird but now not really'' isn't really bright

>I think she has the capability to show some intelligence, as most ravens are good learners.
again, this is fucking moot when a fucking stone statue is much more intelligent than you

> She shows that she is at least able to pick up and understand a few things about her own powers.
well she's not dumb so of course she'd know a thing or two about her powers. but that's not the same as grasping the science behind it (not to mention ``science'' in gensokyo is whack)

put it this way: i'm sure you'll find it dumb when i say that the three fairies are masters of physics because they understand how their powers over optics etc works?
or if i say cirno is a genius at thermodynamics because she understands how to freeze things?
or how chen is a scholar in african-american history and culture because she knows a thing or two about black arts?
etc
