It was pretty much like that, yes. But naturally Ren has no means whatsoever to use any of Snek's big stuff, all of his attacks come from his Acta Est Fabula, and I doubt Yato's Also Sprach Zarathustra could have copied a entire different law from someone who wasn't even on his Legion.
Asides of Ren stating multiple times that his divinity came from Merc's connection to him, and he was already disappearing in the aftermath of the Three Colors clash when Mercurius and Reinhard were dancing with Rea and Marie at the center of the universe before finally disappearing, sure he was going to be reborn, but the 'gift' Mercurius gave him would be forever gone as he (Merc) died for good at the end of Rea's route.
