With age comes the realization that change is inevitable, and most of the changes i have experienced have been negative with no recourse for further change. Even though I miss my old lifestyle greatly (between jobs currently), choices in life often boil down to "fight or die". I think its the same with the old culture. Unfortunately it is my belief that we are far past the point where we could have fought to any reasonable degree to succeed, and, even if we had, we lacked the authority to be successful long-term. Easy, no-thinking-required posts dominate the board. Not just for us but all of 4chan.

A lot of people like to pretend that we can change /jp/ into something that it used to be, but a lot of our old contributors have either left, portaled, or just shitpost now. This board and many others have been getting progressively worse over the years due in no small part to the popularity of the site. Some years its more obvious than others, but the overall quality level is the elephant in the room for 4chan. Even moot acknowledges this quality issue, but it always seems like we are left out in the cold. Likely there will need to be a new site created or an existing site nurtured to take the place of what used to be. I haven't found that place yet.

See this guy on the left? That was /jp/.

/a/'s userbase changed a lot since the split, it's not worth it. Kind of what happened with /b/, only the memes are different.

I agree, even 4chan itself holds tones of it though.

Notice how every board went from being a location to a club of some kind?

>Hey what is /a/ like???

>What does your average /v/ poster look like?

>What's /jp/'s fetish?

It's all hivemind mentality shit imported from /b/ who see a board as a culture instead of just a place to post. Ironically it got worse the harder it tried to be /b/. The /b/ everyone seems to adore died when wannabes poured in trying to 'be like /b/'.

Pic related.

People need to keep their mouths shut with all the metashit, /jp/ is starting to go the same way and it will go down the same path /a/ and /v/ went down.

Remember when all of 4chan was about Japanese culture instead of one board and parts of a few others?

To the fags that didn't catch up yet:
