I felt that the manga said too much in its version of EP8. Some of the clarifications that were written in were great, but some of the parts that were in the original sound novel were butchered, so to speak. The whole feeling of a sad end to a long journey is sort of lost.
The part where Erika rants to Battler about how frustrated she was at not understanding/noticing the existence of Yasu in particular is one of the parts that I am not sure whether I hate or love about the extra parts that R07 added in the manga. In the original sound novel, Battler and Erika fought against each other in a race against time to the backdrop of the song lixaxil. The hollowness of the sound novel version of this fight is something that I feel is there to compound the feeling that the story is coming to a close.
Yet in the manga, I think Erika's revelations are dissonant to the actual meaning and intention of what R07 aimed for in the original.
But it does develop one of my favourite characters, so I guess that makes it somewhat OK in the grand scheme of things.
