It's passable, but I wouldn't call it good. That said, I do agree with the "old art has soul" thing. People abuse that meme too much, but it does genuinely apply here. I'm not worried or concerned about the background CGs. They all look great from the few screenshoots we've seen. I just mainly hope the sprites don't look lazy (like modern Takeuchi hands everywhere).
