After 5 chapters of LydieSuelle, I think I'll put this down if chapter 6 doesn't get anymore interesting. The 3D models and animations are excruciatingly painful to watch compared to still 2D hand drawn images. BGMs are uninspiring. Interaction between characters often feels awkward and forced.

Almost no point in synthetizing really good bombs (aside from fighting very tough bosses or resistant enemies). Make a really good weapon and armor (stack MP usage reducing property and max MP boosting property), stock on MP replenishing item, then go crazy spamming skills because Suelle has an insta-death shot skillz. (heh)

They tuned Sophie's synthesis system to make it even more grindy. Requests are mainly "get daddy X of item Y", "get princess N of item M", which makes you go into the same dungeon over and over. Synthetizing various cauldrons in Sophie got replaced by catalyst ingredients... I mean catalyst consumables, so you go back and forth into dungeons for those as well. They toned down the synthesis puzzles as well, and make it really easy. In exchange, you need really good materials and catalysts to obtain certain high level effects. Point being: grind, grind, grind, then grind some more.

Dungeons are huge, with each map having more than 50 gathering points, which changes when day goes to night, and night goes to day. One dungeon can easily give you 200-300 items, but your basket capacity starts at 50, and I haven't found any recipe to increase it so far. So you waste a lot of time deciding which one you want to keep, and which one you want to throw away... wait a minute, there's no time limit. Let's just go back and forth until we've inspected each and every gather points.

Did I mention dungeons are huge? Yeah, that's why it's 5 chapter through the game, and there's only 8 of them so far. They replaced Totori / Sophie style world map with Rorona's.

I have a feeling they shredded the entire original Atelier team, then put musou people in charge of this game.
