>there's just no good options for light dolls with volume to them
The Happy Dolls have pretty good volume, no? Certainly bigger than most TPE dolls (which are almost always much thinner than any real women). If you don't need a skeleton you can make your own plush though (or whatever other stuffed fabric) at whatever scale you want, but it'll take some time to learn. Then there are inflatables (like HongYi on ali) that you could stuff, but the PVC is not really a comfy material unless you have that preference

Thanks yeah I've seen that one before, they make a half decent silicone head for it. It seems to be the best option maybe, the doll just isn't that tall at 165cm max

Thanks, back when they still made this the reviews seemed pretty mixed, so I never looked into it that much, it looks good though.

I already own a doll but I'm kind of a lazy ass and I'm looking for something that would be more convenient in terms of weight especially at night and without having concern to fuck up the fingers

There's also the Textile Doll thing but the faces aren't really appealing to me

For me the main reason against a plush doll was the lack of appealing faces (imho) and lack of variety in that area (apart from the general lower realism). But the Happy Doll brand in pic has few decent silicone face options and they have an M16 bolt so one could even place a TPE head there. But it looks kinda off combining fundamentally different materials like that, plastic or fabric head works better.
Fabric dolls are definitely a good option for many people in many cases
Does your doll have a skeleton?

Smell varies between manufacturers and different TPE formulations they're using at the time. Some of them have (nearly) no recognizable smell, whereas others do, and generally smell should become much less with time. There is no one single TPE smell - if there is smell the manufacturers will typically aim to have it be a pleasant smell but there are uncommon cases of individuals being unhappy with a doll due to smell (a more common complaint is weight). Vendors should be able to provide you with (fresh) TPE samples from a given manufacturer which allows you to check the smell (also skin color which is the most important choice after body and head). Also you can search on dollforum/google for a given brand and what owners say.

As an alternative there are fabric dolls that have no TPE smell but obviously lacking in realism.

One significant difference between a daki and a doll would be the rigid joints. It's a soft poseable mannequin so unlike a pillow you can't easily and arbitrarily bend and twist it to conform to your own body with zero effort. You can get loose joints but due to the realism it then looks like a dead body (imho), whereas the rigid joints are what can make a doll seem alive and lifelike by holding poses
