I'm leaving for Japan in less than a month. I want to say I'm excited to go, but I'm really not. I'm going there to work and to see family which I have only ever spoken on the phone with. I'm nervous and don't want to leave my (online) friends behind. I only speak the language half-fluently and feel like my mastery of the language won't pull me through.

When I get back to the US, I'll be 21. I'm afraid I'll have accomplished nothing in that time. I don't want to go back without having made a friend or earned a small amount of money.
