>She opens her mouth to speak but you beat her to the punch. “Yes, we very much would appreciate a physical checkup.” She turns to you with a hurt look before adopting a sullen gaze.

>”Well then, just remove sit down on the bed and remove your clothes.” Stethoscopes are pulled out from yet another drawer while you gently lay her down on the table.

>It takes you a while to remove her shirt. The sweater comes off with no fuss other than her insistence in wrapping herself with it, but the shirt is another matter entirely.

>”Surely the doctor can check my heartbeat through the thin fabric.” You shake your head and softly trace out the deepest scar on her arm. “There are other things we need to check for.” She responds by burying her head into her arms before complying.

>She lifts the shirt over her head slowly and the doctor furrows his brow with every inch that comes up. Surprisingly, her arms are much more scarred than her body, but while the scars on her arms are light, the ones across her torso and long and drawn out.

>The older sighs deeply before closing his eyes to think. Your palms are covered in cold sweat at the comprehension of this situation’s appearance.
