The next server run will be in April, it will mark an entire 5 years that I've worked on and held a vigil over this server. I do not know if it will be the last.

I'm truly disappointed in some of you today. Especially those of you who have been here for a long time. Today was the first time I've lost my patience and ended prematurely due to people getting rowdy.

It is inevitable that times change. While I know many of you hold a grudge against me for the way I do things - I think it's fair to give new people a chance, at least. For five years, I've tried to keep things as they were to the best of my abilities. People who show up regularly now at one point had people cooing for them to be banned too, but they eventually conformed. The old adage of take it easy. It's sad for me to see you guys act like that.Trying to keep the balance of still having fresh blood while still trying to preserve the old culture is something that constantly plagues my mind. I would rather not see this server degrade into a circlejerk clique who shun anyone not in their little group just as much I don't want to see it be anything other than the old /jp/ as I remember it. I wanted it merely to be something where you could hop in and play something silly, without having to worry about the identities of others, or your own.

The same goes to new people, as well. I expect at least a modicum of compliance from you, don't be obnoxious. I may not warn you, but I do keep track of things. I've sacrificed no small amount of time and effort for this over many years, if you care anything for this server then at least offer this small respect of trying not to stir shit when I'm already aware of the problem.

That's enough of my own complaining and this will be my own last post in this thread. Ordinarily, I'd bite my tongue, but I get the feeling this won't resolve itself unless I speak my own mind about something for once. I dislike meta and I dislike making a post about meta even more, so for heaven's sake, try to behave next time. I don't need to be reminded of the past, or the way things used to be when I've been managing this since the beginning. Seeing people complaining about how things are now is particularly unpleasant for me. The fact that I'm even making a post like this after all these years means this has taken more of a toll on me than I wish it did.
