Ignore the one who mentioned the deen anime, if you have the patience to read the VN then you definitively should read it.

You could also read the console arcs of Higurashi, but they're not canon so it isn't necessary. I included the chronological order if you really want though.

I just bought Hou and it's my first time going through Higu. Do I go through the core 8 arcs first and go back for the rest later or should I read the side arcs as I unlock them?
