Plover under fiery crown
Egret awaits not.

Or whatever, I didn't catch your reference.

>Pure bliss

Sounds dangerous. Having had my expectations (and respect) for vampires all but removed by that-vampire-franchise-we-don't-talk-about, I'm currently very easily impressed.
My head may explode.

Well... someone beat me to it. KamS provided quite a reasonable backround for Parsee already.
Supposedly she's the Chinese version of the hashihime - a sort of minor deity born from a suicide at a bridge, classed as a youkai by Japanese standards.
It's not perfect, but it makes sense. Not much else to say about it.

You've probably seen this. While not a doujin, it's at least a sort of origin story for Parsee.

As much as I'd love to, never seen any origin story for Yuugi.

No wonder, because that's pretty much all there is.
It's a later addition that the hashihime, as a mythical creature, is "something" that hangs around a bridge and doesn't really do much else. There is no appearance nor particular function attributed to them.

The only mystical relation I can think of is Chinese folklore tends to have bridges as popular suicide spots for young widows, sometimes with a long description of her being deified and enshrined at the particular bridge. Not sure what kind of relation there is, if any.

Pashi.

Though for some reason I keep reading her name as "Peaches".

Beautiful.

Cue unbridled envy smoldering with the fury of a monstrous supervolcano relentlessly consuming Iceland from beneath.

Simo Häyhä could've stayed at home and wallowed in his angst, but he went out and came back with 505 dead Russians and a brand new jawbone to his name instead.
You know how? That's right.
Practice.

So, how many hashihime are there in modern popular culture?

Know there's Parsee, that unnamed one in Wagaya no Oinari-sama, and... not a whole lot of others.

... Parsee / Iku. Now that's a pairing we're guaranteed never to see.

Come to think of it, besides the whole undersea dragon palace theme, what's the traditional story of the oarfish in folklore?

But more likely Parsee is a (very female) character without any particular connections and no relation to Yuugi whatsoever besides being in the same game and in roughly the same geographic region in said game. And they just got paired together because it's a universal fandom formula that tall outgoing girl + short withdrawn girl = hawt lesbian secks.
