That scene always bugged me, especially this line. That phrasing can't just be a coincidence. It makes me wonder if Bern/Lambda had a hand in Asumu's untimely death. It'd be all the more meaningful since that death is what led to Battler leaving the family, indirectly resulting in the tragedy.

What did she mean by this?

Did Bern/Lambda cause Asumu's death?

I've always found this part of Kyrie and Jessica's exchange in Episode 6 interesting. Like, maybe it's implying that Asumu's death was actually caused by Bern or Lambda, setting everything in motion for Beato's game.

I still have a bit of a pet theory, that Lambda and Bern were responsible for Asumu dying naturally, thus setting everything in motion. It's mostly based on that one strange line Kyrie says when talking to Jessica about love.

Without that, Kyrie would have killed Asumu and likely gotten arrested. At the very least Rudolph wouldn't have remarried with her and Battler wouldn't have left the family.
