Shimadoriru is more about that than Zounose is, I think.

Zounose does shove some violent imagery and cannibalishit in front of your face but he never really embraces it as the focal point of any of his stories, saving it for the climax. Human cannibalism only really comes up in recent Sanae one, which in of itself is a coming of age story with human sacrifice subtext which makes perfect sense for her character, who's practically on the verge between human and deity-like status. She doesn't indulge in eating that shit, and for a vast majority of the book she's directly opposed to the idea. As for Canni-can, though, I don't know what the fuck to think of it. It's a love story. The ring is the proponent for all the shit in the story to begin with. I like it for that aspect but it's really the only one I think is retarded and shits on canon with the human meat grinder factory and embodies all the hate he gets.

Funnily, if it wasn't for his grimdark shit, most of his work would just be a happy romp. The characters don't wallow in self-pity and murder for fun the whole time and it's for good reason; to add that dissonance prior to the climax.

I've been through this argument before. To each his own, but please consider my perspective, that he puts that goreshit in there for good reason. Or keep yours; that's fine as well.
