Not him but I have to disagree with you to a degree.
It's mostly semantics, but I would say irrational outcries from online lunatics is nothing new. It's the amount of reach they seem to have now. Things don't stay localized on their site of occurrence.
Even then, crying on the internet to get something taken down is nothing new. To me, it certainly seems like this issue continues to grow with each passing year. I might be just be negative though.
