/jp/ - Otaku Culture

So I've been trying to play Pokemon Ultra Sun in Japanese and everything is perfectly fine except for attack descriptions.
I simply can't tell for sure what each move does, especially the status effect stuff.
Any tips for this? Any games which are even easier than a game designed for 7 year olds?

Admittedly I haven't tried playing the game in hiragana only. Maybe switching back and forth to check how it's pronounced will help me search for words easier...? That's kinda めんどくさい tho
