Youmu is the best character you can get as the freebie at the start of the game. Japs have Tewi, Medicine, Ran and Kosuzuzuzu ranked as the best characters you can pull from any banner. Also can't go wrong with someone like Patchouli, Remilia, Benben Kenobi or Hatate. Flan is a big meme in this game because she has absolutely terrible accuracy which you can't make up for in the early stages of the game unless you also get super lucky with card pulls. Someone like Kokoro would be a lot better than Sanae when it comes to healers because Sanae does absolutely no damage at all. In general it is better to get lots of attacking characters (and Medicine) instead of passive or tanky characters. Also Satori is pretty terrible while Koishi is ok.

I've finished every mission on lunatic and I still don't have Youmu. I also only got Reisen today. Almost 50 rolls in the fox + cat banner and still no Ran or even Chen. My gacha luck is so bad.
