I don't have the warships international article handy but IIRC a lot of the fittings and connections were installed backwards, and the system was already rusting to pieces just from being in the open while it was assembled indicating wrong materials or remarkably bad metallurgy. the funniest part was when they were talking about how all the Soyuz hulls were stuck to the keel blocks because the launching grease had evaporated over the years they weren't worked on, which is something i've never even heard of or considered before
