also, when I say RERECORD I mean not use the exact same vocal track used for the original. there is only so much you can do with the track if you don't rerecord it. look at fucking magic of love album mix. it's just reordering things and taking musical breaks its pure shit, look at spending all my time album mix it's just shittier instrumental and ultimately feels like the same song but much worse.


look at flash album mix. decent for most part except for the chorus clearly sounds like it wasn't meant for a song of that tone it's hindered by that. what nakata SHOULD do is use the original track make a new instrumental layer them over, show it to perfume get them to re-sing the vocals with the new track in mind and use the new one. it would instantly sound better because they aren't trying to sing over a loud thumping track they are singing over a mellow track.

look at start train and tokimeki lights. pointless changes that don't really add anything.

look at a much fucking better album. lets look at radio onsen utopia.

let’s look at shonen yo, let’s look at nornir, let’s look at venus and jesus. rerecorded to fit the new track. look how good the album mix of gamalastan sounded in vanibest. fuck you can even change up a song even more and make it sound even more different like choco mint flavor time in vanilla beans 3.

I give nakata credit for at least trying to make cling cling sound different and while the vocails not being rerecorded wasn’t the only issue he could have helped it by trying to match the sporadic nature of the song with the vocals that would have been a curve ball no one was expecting. then again so was a song so bad it makes you laugh.

sweet refrain was by far the laziest and by far the easiest to notice how bad it is. while with that instrumental sweet refrain album mix would never be better than the god tier original re doing, the vocals was have made it a good ass song almost up there with next stage with you.

so, if you can't prove I'm contradicting myself you can at least admit that using the original vocals has harmed their album mixes more than once.
