Those of you who watched a certain show last season are probably familiar with ぼくのフレンド (and if you're not, go listen to it right now), whose final lines run like this:

綺麗なものを探しに行こう
美味しいものもたくさん食べよう
つまりはこれからもどうかよろしくね

Does anyone here want to give a crack at explaining the full nuance of the exact phrase「これからもどうかよろしくね」here? I've rad read various things people have written on Chiebukuro about the use of これから, どうか vs どうぞ, and ね with よろしく, all of which shade the phrase with different nuances (most of which unfortunately seem to have been written with use in business as a stock phrase in mind), but as far as I can tell I'm looking at it like this:

"Please continue, despite everything, to be my friend."
"Please somehow find a way to continue being my friend in the future."

Any thoughts? Or is this just one of those things that's a huge waste of time because trying to translate culturally embedded phrases is a shit?
