Anyways, Annihilator just destroys random stuff. Anyone capable of dodging it won't get screwed over by it. Not to mention the possibility of nullifying its effect, not even allowing its effect to trigger or even preventing an eldrazi from attacking in the first place. If a Servant dies to Annihilator, it's because his Master is worthless. If the Servant has the choice he can just throw his entire environment at the eldrazi and then run to a new environment for a fresh supply of things to be annihilated. The Master is the only thing that could make him 'lose' against eldrazi. Masters' interference can make any Servant to lose to anything; Lancer even lost to himself due to his Master being an asshole.

Yes, the idea was that the creature gets hurt even for just witnessing death (with the whole seeing the lines thing in itself being very self-destructive for normal humans).
