>Alright, here's one. I kinda want to switch to Linux, but I needs me my VNs. What distro works best with windows emulation? Are there going to be any problems getting my shit to work? If my machine is pretty much just a conduit to 2d-land, is Linux gonna give me problems or will it be relatively doable?

START WITH UBUNTU. /g/ will say go straight for Arch but that is suicide. All of the distros will be able to emulate with the same capability. If you cannot find a Linux native emulator, you can run Wine, which is a Windows compatibility layer you can install a Windows emulator using if you cannot find one for Linux. Than again if it is for the PC just install Wine and run it there. Installing Wine on Ubuntu is relatively painless as far as the Linux world goes.

I personally use Linux myself and I have never looked back. It is very different than Windows and tasks are done in very different ways. However if your computer is a 2d land, Linux is excellent once you've learned the basics of it. You no longer are able to be infected with malware simply by being connected to the internet.

I view my doujin with gqview. To install it, I simply open a terminal and type "sudo apt-get install gqview" and it goes ahead and immediately starts to install. For me, Linux is simply a better way of doing things. I don't need Windows for anything anymore and many things Linux does better. To get infected with a virus using Linux, you have to really try hard.

After you get over the initial learning curve, I have found it excellent and I prefer it over Windows. The learning curve is there and it can get hard because it is much different. But for me learning my way around it was been completely worth it. Plus you get to hack wireless and crack people's Windows passwords. Score.
