Its nice to see a properly formatted thread again.

I just finished chapter 7 of Umi, friends.

Looking forward to the final chapter but I also don't want it to end. Feeling many things, I am somehow still very confused, but I'm not a mystery solver.

Is it more that we're scared WTC5 will be a disappointment, or that we're afraid Ryukishi is losing his touch?
The only thing we know about this is that it's going to be When They Cry 5, so it's far too early to worry about it being bad. We can make guesses about the quality of it by pointing out the strengths and flaws of his previous stories, but this is still going to be a new story. Maybe he'll repeat his mistakes and make new ones, or maybe he's learned from his mistakes. We have nothing to go by as of now. There's no guarantee it will even be a visual novel because he expressed interest in other mediums for it.

I suppose that's just the nature of the game. I guess I prefer progress in stories. Umineko is totally worth the ride either way, just not my absolute preference.
