It doesn't matter what color you use as long as it is solid. I've made a number of PCCs with different color backgrounds and they all work. You might have fucked up by blending, normally to remove something I'd actually manually draw over it/use color selection (ctrl+O) or fuzzy selection tool.

There's a problem with old pcc base dolls. Since E+ changed the size of the bodies, old pccs will look huge and awkward and none of the eyes/hair/clothes will fit on them. I was checking out the lamia body you see posted every so often, and it had the same problem, you can't put things on it and since it's blank otherwise you can't use it. So I mashed another pcc on it and made some adjustments.
