I love Touhou so much, but it pains me that gensokyo isn't real and that I'm not a little 2d girl living in it, I played Touhou Last Word where you play as a girl (which you can give a name) making friends with touhou characters recently and it almost made me cry, I really like the game, but I can't stop thinking "ah... this will never be real and I won't ever be as happy as my self-insert" when I'm playing it.

I'd really love to be any kind of cute little 2d girl in Gensokyo if it were real, maybe a fairy, or a human, or even a yokai, all options would be great, but I'm stuck on this boring world, which constantly becomes meaner, back in the day I could kind of escape from reality by using the internet and even pretend to be in Gensokyo, but nowadays it is impossible, there are too many "normal" people on the internet, I'll probably get some rude people replying to this thread calling me names and assuming wrong stuff about me.

But, even though being a cute little 2d girl in Gensokyo is my dream, I know it is impossible, at least during my lifetime, I don't believe in any religion or anything supernatural, I am a full science and technology guy, so I know that no amount of dumb rituals or praying will make me go to Gensokyo, and I can't even kill myself to escape from reality, because I know that neither heaven or hell exists, it's just nothing after you die, so not even dying would bring me to Gensokyo, maybe in the future technology will be able to create a virtual gensokyo where people will be able to transfer their minds to, but that is the far far future, and I'll be long dead by then, sure I can help it become a reality, but I won't be able to use it myself and live the life I truly want and belong to, as a cute little 2d girl in Gensokyo, making friends and being happy.

If anyone else here feels the same way, even if it is just one guy, I want you to know you're not alone, and I share your pain.
