i wanted to learn italian and german for opera and songs, but they didn't have mountains of endless interesting content for me to learn with so i could understand opera natively unlike japanese where I'll just never run out of stuff
maybe I'll get into Japanese musicals, I once saw an extremely good 和風 remake of Le Nozze di Figaro, but they removed it from their youtube channel for some reason. it was actually incredible and Cherubino (or Cherubino's 和風 isekai equivalent) was even played by a male instead of a woman like he normally is in the west, which is just unnecessary but impressive lol
