In my experience when I recommend shit to my friends they tend to give commentary on what and make theories about it. If those theories tend to line up to reality then I'd say that classes as being able to figure it out, at least personally in my experience nobody has ever figured out Higurashi from the answers arc.

I just disagree then, I think you should be able to figure out the solution from the initial part of the game where the questions are asked before the game starts telling you the answers. Otherwise it's a semantic argument over where the line is and I don't think there's a single answer for that.

General consensus just meaning what I've personally seen online and what the majority of people tend to say, not like I'm polling people on whether or not they think you can solve Higurashi before Question 4.

The difference is unreliable narration and misleading red truths are all explicitly established when they're introduced in the questions arcs, when Virgilia does her big 9/11 joke about Beatrice's twin towers being useless and then tells Battler about Braun Tubes and magic theory and fantasy vs anti-fantasy it's clearly establishing the unreliable narrator, or when Beatrice introduces Red Truths the first thing Battler probes for is Beatrice using it in a misleading manner to push Battler (and the reader) down a rabbit-hole and direct your attention elsewhere. I don't think this is nearly the same as showing an event and then pulling the rug out from under you and revealing that it was unreliable narration as Higurashi, and Gou and Sotsu as well funnily enough, did.
