the folders are the sound files that are required for listening comprehensions, everything will be explained in the books
long story short there are 5 pdf files: genki 1 (textbooks + workbook), genki 2 (textbooks + workbook) + book with all the answers
you obviously start with genki 1's textbook and everything should be easy to understand from here
