I assume they use that for ticketed cafe events, like the SayaMegu one tomorrow. That doorway in the back covered with a black curtain normally leads into the cafe proper, and when there's no event going on you can go in the theater and eat there. When I went they were streaming a theater performance on the big flat screen (don't remember if it was live).
