Hmm maybe esoteric isn't the right word. Maybe... impenetrable/perplexing to an outsider? And it's not just about the Japanese (language) either (though even that stuff is really difficult to Google since even when we do use Japanese, it's a sorta corrupted pidgin version). There's the JAV-specific vocabulary. There's the condiments. There's the extremely generous usage of prefixes like faux-/quasi-/pseudo-/semi- that, depending on context, might confer a degree of either sarcasm or sincerity. There's the random words we sometimes capitalise ("Lifestyle", "PROFESSIONALISM" "CONTEXT", etc). There's the aromas. There's allusions to previous (in)famous posts, posters, and sometimes even specific "events" or "incidents" through in-jokes and ever-evolving references. There's the (subcontinental) Indian/Desi angle and sirposting. There are repurposed words and truncated phrases ("partaking", "developer tools", "(Gross) Domestic Product", etc). There are systems. There are phenotypes. There's lore and history. There are triple-quadruple entendres and word/phrase constructions based on several layers of hidden meaning like "Nene Minori". This goes beyond simply learning that "hag" isn't derogatory.

It's "easy" for a regular because most of these changes and innovations occured piecemeal so we adapted our understanding incrementally but for a newsir, our lexicon may be nearing an incomprehensible level of complexity and obscurity and it keeps increasing — snowballing even (and yes, I know it's not even winter yet). We will get to a point where the amount of necessary knowledge to actually understand the most basic of interactions on /jav/ will be a huge barrier to entry. In addition, there may even be a chance that even if a boss or family member or significant other were to discover our leftmost /jav/ tab and parsed the contents within, they'd still be nonethewiser to what the hell we're actually discussing. We're still a way off yet but I find that prospect both hilarious and worrying.

KEK! Here, this goes both ways. The lexicon of /jav/posting will become so vast and involve so many otherwise disparate vocabularies and references, daily life itself will become a challenge as almost everything we encounter will remind us of JAV and/or /jav/ and in turn be a source of amusement to a sir even where that may be inappropriate like a high stakes business meeting or funeral.

I don't think it's so much the (de)sensitivity but rather one's appreciation becomes more nuanced and less shallow. Yellow fever isn't genuine attraction and being cured of it doesn't mean suddenly being uninterested in Asian women anymore. Through JAV, your brain learns to manage as well as articulate the idea of attraction in less simplistic one-dimensional terms. Actresses are/become appealing not solely because they're Japanese/Asian but because their more individual charm points are now more noticeable; their ethnicity just becomes a backdrop that provides some context without being the sole reason for attraction.
