Have you never thought about why Reimu only massacres male youkais? That is because the very reality of Gensokyo is powered by Yuri faith, when the Yuri faith breaks down there's no Gensokyo.
How else would you explain Reimus murderous behavior against male youkais while she just drinks tea and is friendly with the females that's done way worse stuff? That's because these cute female youkais are potentially yuri partners and helps to power up the yuri faith that is the very pillar of Gensokyo.
